Dr. Kelly Barth, a psychiatrist and internal medicine doctor at MUSC who specializes in the management of chronic pain and opioid dependence shares MUSC’s successful efforts with the SC MAT ACCESS project. The Project works to bridge the gap between the need for behavioral health treatment and access to it through the Medication-Assisted Treatment – Academic Community Capacity Expansion for Sustainable Success. South Carolina MAT ACCESS projects’ use of the ECHO Model to enhance the state’s capacity to provide care to citizens with opioid related problems.
